Planned Potterhood

Dawn Eden in a story on Planned Parenthood encouraging J.K. Rowlings to write sex education into her next novel has what I consider to be one of the funniest headlines I have ever seen. She is the master of the punny headline but you need to go here to see this one for yourself!

Banned Parenthood has no shame when it comes to wanting to corrupt children with their message. People would have a fit if Big Tobacco asked J.K. Rowlings to have Harry and friends start smoking as a way to generate money, but PP does worse and people would probably call it eng lightened thinking.

Now I can imagine the difficulties of Harry trying to make out in the backseat of a broom. And wizards are often impotent because of crystal balls. Do they really want Harry to create a draught of contraception or an abortion potion? Possibly to conjure up a condom and enchant a safe sex spell?

You missed the obvious: Harry does Hogwarts.

Or, based on the "detailed instructions" link on Dawn's post, we'd have "Harry Potter and Hermione's Hiney".

Disgusting.

That's about how I'd some up Planned Parenthood. Their "evangelization" of abortion on demand was enough to make me dislike the organization, but their views on teenage sexuality infuriate me. I'm getting married in October, so I figure in the next few years I'll be starting a family. God help the PP member, teacher, or any other individual who tries to usurp my rightful authority as parent and teaches my children filth.

BTW, sorry if my previous comment crossed the line.

Maybe NORML, the pot legalization folks, can drown out PP by asking for "Harry Pothead and the Philosopher Stoned."

(I based that on the real title of the first book, not the Americanized one. I don't want to hang out with a stoned sorcerer, but a stoned philosopher -- well, let's talk.)

Oh and I know Funky Dung meant well, but let me request of everybody: DON'T TALK MEAN ABOUT HERMIONE!!

Harry Potter And the Eunuch's Revenge!

Leave it to me to hijack a humorously sarcastic thread in order to be a bit too serious.

Harry Potter and the Third Spirit
In this, the sixth book of the Harry Potter series, an unexpected source of power for the evil Voldemort becomes the object of a frantic search. When Dumbledor appears skeptical about a faint voice that whispers to Harry whenever he thinks of his mother, Harry and friends set out to find the Third Spirit and answer new questions about the Potters' murder.

Harry Potter! People!, the Harry Potter book/movie series is not something to get your children into. It clearly teaches children to be involved in the occult by makeing it seem good or something. Harry potter says PG, but it'll do as much harm to your children as a porn-filled XXX would. Don't get your children interested in the occult.

Don,
Good grief, Harry Potter is not about dragging children into the occult. It uses Christan themes of sacrificial Love, resurrection, and doing what is right even if it costs you everything, in order to teach children how to follow Christ more closely. Check this site for a more detailed explanation: http://www.hogwartsprofessor.com/home.php

Melissa,
It really doesn't matter if the person is a good Christian or not. If you looking for God in harry Potter, you won't find Him. You're just ignoring the facts that many children are just obsessed with this series. The children certanly won't find God in a serius that is all about occult practices. Even without the occult thing it still dosen't have it's good morals:

I don't think Don accepts the concept of metaphor in fiction.

I don't think Don accepts the authority of the current pope. He linked to SSPX material.

Funky Dung,
I am a Catholic. I am not one of those idiots that "thinks the church was taken over by freemasons". John Paul II is our Pope. What kind of bullshit are you bringing up? I linked that page to here for the harry potter thing, I got that from a serch, I didn't realize the kind of site it was, but I didn't think anyone would care. Anyway, I told you the truth, why would I lie? Think and question before you spread false rumors, dumbass!

Ok, sorry for the language. But you just started a false rumor.

I'm only 14. Don't treat me like an adult or something.
