Missal Defense
Jesterware now presents the latest in interactive liturgical gaming. Missal Defense allows you to take out your frustrations on vapid modern songs (none dare call them hymns) such as those published by Oregon Catholic Press and GIA. The object is simply to destroy as many missals as you can before they can find their way to a pew.
Game Play
Simply press play and the cross cursor will then appear. As missals come on the screen place the cross over them and press your mouse button to blow these missals out of the skies.

The blogger at Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam suggested a game along these lines in my comment box. Some of the underlying coding is based on a Macromedia Flash sample by Sascha Wolter. Any lameness of this game is totally attributed to myself.

Your correct that was the Church I used. I googled for images and that was the Church in the picture I used, take around the 1930s?
It took me a second to realize that you had created a real game. This is fun, and it fits in with the blog I'm writing now.

What's Level Two? "Today's Missal"?
Well, I am lukewarm about Gather. We use it and it is just fine, but we don't use some songs I would really hate,so.. that tempers my feelings.
BUT ANYHOW I LOVE THIS GAME!!!

I got 188 and I have to quit before it gets silly.
Being a liturgical musician, I tend to try to use the "good old" stuff when planning Masses -- thank goodness Gather Comprehensive includes it!

Even when I tried to let them get to a pew, the missals just kept floating, waiting to be blocked. If only real misaletts acted this way.

That is the old Gather Comprehensive hymnal. The new one is less distinct. It's also magenta.
I like how the missals grow larger with time without clicking with the cross. So get them early before people with bad eye sight can read them too!
All it needs now is some organ music to set the mood, say Bach's Toccata?
Played this while I was supposed to be doing my Seton schoolwork. It's good but needs some more exciting activity on the part of the missals.
I have not seen the 'Gather' books, due to the high standards of my pastor. I have read them in other churches and have wanted to rip them to shreds.

Collegeville, St. Michael's Hymnal, We Celebrate, Catholic Community Hymnal, RitualSongs, Breaking Bread, Worship I, II, III, Lead Me Guide Me, JourneySongs, et. al., everything by GIA, OCP, WLP, J.S. Paluch, (aka J.S.Polluted), and any other initials you can think of!
Then, of course, the heroic Adoremus, with faithful sidekick St. Gregory's Hymnal, could come in and help save the day!
I was just wondering why you didn't like The St. Michael Hymnal? It seems really different from the others on the list.
