Redemption for aliens

Podcaster extraordinaire Fr. Roderick has recently started blogging and today he translates an article of an interview with Vatican astronomer Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes that appeared in the Osservatore Romano.

The Star Wars Ewok Gospel goes perfectly with this story.

Then again, the aliens could be pre-Conciliar-Mass-loving schismatics who don't recognize what the Vatican says.

OR Aliens might be very devout Catholics already and re-evangelize US!

Oh the possibilities for the imagination!

FUN!

Many medieval scholastics affirmed the possibility of life elsewhere (denying the possibility called into question the freedom and omnipotence of God). That being said, this possibility cannot be used to call into question the unity of the human family--all coming from Adam and inheriting his sin. Pope St. Zachary in the mid-8th century reproved the idea of human beings existing in places where human beings couldn't travel to at the time (like the moon or sun) for this reason.

Well, Peter Kreeft said in his book Angels (and Demons) that angels are more than extra-terrestrial, they're extra-cosmic. So non-sentient lifeforms out there could just possibly exist. All we have to posit is why God allowed them to exist elsewhere.

Just as I thought, you can forget the White House lawn, the true sign of intelligent life will be when a saucer will land in St. Peter's square and its people get out and pay respects to the Holy Father.

Ewoks would need the Truth, since they worshipped a Golden Droid.
