Hats all folks!
The Holy Father certainly does love trying on new hats.

Though maybe he keeps trying to find a hat that Monsignor Georg Gänswein won't swipe from him.
The Pope is always having to keep an eye out whenever Monsignor Georg Gänswein is around.

Who doesn't seem to be satisfied in just swiping one.

Posted by Ronald Van Wegen email at October 26, 2006 2:48 AMIf you put those pictures in a different order (3, 2, 4, 1), you've got the basics of The Five Hundred Hats of Benedict Cubbins.
Posted by Tom K. email at October 26, 2006 8:27 AMHas anyone else noticed that the Holy Father is just plain cute? There is something very "enchanted forest" about him. Maybe I just need more medication. (scuttles away to find her prescription)
Posted by Sister Yesterday email at October 26, 2006 8:48 AMHe IS cute, very cute.
Posted by Janice email at October 26, 2006 12:28 PMWhat's the first hat? Looks like a tricorn, hard to tell from the picture. Papa does look cute no matter what's on his head.
"Now please KEEP it on this time!" spoken after Papa let the wind carry off yet another white zuccheto...
He is cute! I read that if you pass Mgr. Gainswein a new zuchetta for the Holy Father, he will swap it out with the one being worn. True?
Posted by Molly email at October 26, 2006 9:40 PMTrue, and you get to keep the old. Old tradition in the Church.
Although I believe it is only done in private audiences.
Posted by Pio Magnus email at October 27, 2006 12:08 AMHe is cute, but Ganswein is adored by the ladies of Italy as the ultimate stunner.
Posted by Spirit of Vatican II email at October 29, 2006 4:34 AMMolly, apparently its true. One of the lads at my school who is studying in Rome this semester traded hats with Papa, or rather, with Monsignor..
